AfterPay FAQs

afterpay

What is Afterpay?

Afterpay is a buy-now-pay-later service that lets eligible shoppers spread the cost of their purchase over six weeks. When you use Afterpay at HR Sports, the retailer is paid in full, and you repay the balance in four equal instalments: the first instalment, usually about 25%, is normally taken at checkout, and the remaining three payments are deducted automatically every two weeks. There are no interest charges or annual fees when you pay on time, though late fees may apply.

Afterpay sets a personalised spend limit that starts low and can increase over time if you make payments on time. If you have built a good repayment history, you may also be invited to use Afterpay’s no payment upfront feature, which allows eligible customers to pay $0 at checkout on orders under $500; your first payment is then due 8–14 days after purchase. Eligibility for this feature depends on factors such as payment history and how long you have been with Afterpay. Some purchases, including gift cards, orders over $500, fuel purchases, and grocery merchants, may be excluded.

You must be at least 18 years old and have a valid debit or credit card to sign up. Afterpay may conduct a credit check when you create an account or request a higher spending limit. Approval is not guaranteed and depends on your available funds and payment history.
